Using the Law to Solve Real-Life Math Problems Most Adults Face
Latest Case BRIEF...DAVIS V DAVIS (2019)
The Maths Court™
"Real Cases. Real Numbers. Real Lives."
Welcome! At The Maths Court, Math is more than a boring, abstract subject...it's an essential tool for solving real-life problems that most adults face...Here, Math is an 'expert witness' in real-life family law matters, which can revolutionise how math is learnt both inside and outside the classroom... A project of AMF Services, The Maths Court is built upon the three foundational pillars, making Math more practical and relatable for both adults and O'level students.
A: Advocacy (The Voice) & Art (The Medium): We use art to depict family law issues, making everyday legal struggles visible and relatable.
M: Math (The Logic): We use the data and evidence from real cases to highlight the practical importance of Math. Whether it’s calculating asset divisions or monthly maintenance, we turn legal conflict into educational growth - thereby improving both the reader's math and legal literacy.
F: Faith (The Foundation): As a bonus, we identify the "forbidden fruits"—the specific behaviours or choices that led to the family breakdown in each case—and examine timeless wisdom found in Scriptures to provide an alternative perspective on some of the main issues in each case.

Davis v Davis (2019)
CASE FILE NO.1: THE MATH OF BEING MARRIED WITH SEPARATE LIFESTYLES ETC...
"The purpose of the powers conferred on the Court in proceedings for financial relief is to enable the court to make fair financial arrangements on or after divorce." — Halsbury’s Laws of England, as cited in the Judgment.
The Core Conflict: After a marriage spanning from 2004 to 2010, a retired secretary and a 65-year-old contractor must now calculate the "price of parting." With medical issues sending both parties to Puerto Rico for treatment and monthly pensions at stake, the Court must now put Math on trial: What is a "fair" monthly maintenance for the wife?....and more!
"How did a $3000 monthly maintenance claim by the wife capitulate into an $800 monthly award?"
